Native to the Philippines and part of the Papilionidae family, you will notice the beautiful color contrast between red and black, with black circles cutting through the red pigments in the bottom wings, certainly gives this butterfly an interesting look. Also called the Rumanzovia (after Nicholas Rumanzow, chancellor of the Russian Empire) they feed on the nectar from a variety of flowers, while their caterpillars feed on the leaves and flowers of citrus plants.
